About the project

About the project

B-Challenged is an European  project that aims to improve the conditions for active outdoor play and healthy dietary behaviour among children aged 6-12. The project focuses on socio-economically disadvantaged urban areas in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands.

B-Challenged integrates scientific approaches such as epidemiology, participatory action research, systems dynamics and health policy to co-create sustainable and structural actions. The ultimate goal is to co-create spaces that support children’s health and reduce health inequalities in Europe.

About us

The B-Challenged brings together researchers from several European countries. The
partners come from the Netherlands (Amsterdam UMC), Poland (Institute of Mother
and Child), Germany (Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology),
Denmark (University of Southern Denmark) and Spain (IIS Aragón). The project also
works with a partner organization from Poland, the Foundation of the Institute of
Mother and Child.
